Biography
Ramon Rodriguez Crespo is a sculptor and painter working between wood, bronze, and watercolor. His practice draws on the landscapes of his upbringing, translating memory and material into quiet, weighted forms.
Born on the Catalan coast, he spent his early years around the boatyards and quarries near his family's home, an environment that left a lasting mark on his sense of material and scale.
He currently lives and works in Barcelona, where his studio overlooks the harbor that first drew his attention to the textures and weights he continues to explore today.
Artist Statement
My work begins with material — its weight, grain, and resistance — and moves toward form only once the material has had its say.
I am interested in the space between control and accident, and in how a finished piece can still carry the memory of its own making.
